Some 2.4 million pensioners are thought to be missing out on Attendance Allowance, which is thought to be the most underclaimed benefit provided by the DWP.
Pensioners are the most likely group of Britons to not be claiming benefits they could receive, according to Age UK.
Those who have had a condition for a long time may want to check if they can claim, as new claimants may be able to get their claim backdated if they can prove they have needed assistance for a while.
To apply for the support, a person needs to fill out the Attendance Allowance claim form and post it to Freepost DWP Attendance Allowance. There is no need to include a postcode or stamp on the letter.
