Dame Judi Dench and Sharleen Spiteri treated Hogmanay revellers to an impromptu rendition of an Abba classic at a five-star hotel on New Year’s Eve.
Video posted by Ewan Venters, the owner of the Fife Arms in Braemar, shows the Oscar-winning actress and the lead singer of rock band Texas sitting side by side as they performed Waterloo to the delight of guests.
Ms Spiteri can be seen singing the chorus in the bar’s hotel while Ms Dench plays the piano and offers occasional backing vocals.
At the end of the 23-second, Spateri can be heard complimenting her musical partner, saying: “What a pianist!”
Mr Venters, a former chief executive of Fortnum & Mason, said the impromptu moment occurred after “lots of reeling”, with guests at the venue having enjoyed a ceilidh.
He said: “Judi of course loves Scotland, having played Queen Victoria on so many occasions. Judi and Sharleen Spiteri were staying at the hotel, and we had an impromptu moment at the piano.”
